As a cluster, Rockingham Beach Education Support Centre and the Rockingham Beach Primary School share a school board – the Rockingham Beach Primary Campus Board (also known as the School Board).
The School Board is our governing authority per the School Education Act 1999. It comprises parents, community members and teachers who are focused on improving the Centre. in the best interests of students and that will enhance the education provided by our campus. This means taking part in the shaping and monitoring of the school’s objectives, priorities and general policy directions.
The School Board therefore assists the Centre with policy and strategy development, and oversees its education planning, financial affairs and physical resources. Our principal leads the day-to-day operations of the Centre and oversees matters related to the student experience.
Our School Board’s goal is to:
- support the implementation of Department of Education policy
- support the provision of exemplary and equitable education for all students
- foster excellence and the development of a positive work ethic
- encourage community spirit and pride in our campus
The School Board meets twice a term. Elections for vacant board positions are advertised through the school newsletter. The volunteer members are appointed for 2-year terms and they also elect a chairperson.
