{"id":413,"date":"2017-02-02T09:24:56","date_gmt":"2017-02-02T01:24:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rockinghambeachprimarycampus.wa.edu.au\/primary\/?page_id=413"},"modified":"2017-02-02T09:24:56","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T01:24:56","slug":"psychologist","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rockinghambeachprimarycampus.wa.edu.au\/primary\/about-us\/student-support\/psychologist\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychologist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"main\">\n<section id=\"content\">\n<article id=\"post-91\" class=\"post-91 page type-page status-publish hentry\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The\u00a0School Psychologist\u00a0provides a specialist psychological assessment, intervention and consultation service.\u00a0 She works at the individual, group, whole school and system levels.\u00a0 The School Psychologist provides support in three main areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><i>Behaviour<\/i><\/strong> \u2013 working with students, parents and the school to identify and change target student behaviours<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Learning<\/i><\/strong> \u2013 conducting assessments of students experiencing learning difficulties and\/or disabilities at school to support teachers to make appropriate curriculum adjustments for students in order to enhance their learning outcomes<\/li>\n<li><strong><i>Mental Health and Wellbeing<\/i><\/strong> \u2013 providing direct support for students experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties and assist the school and children to maximise the development of positive mental health and well-being<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The School Psychologist visits the school each week for the purpose of assisting teachers in the planning of programs for children with particular educational needs. If parents have concerns regarding their child, please speak to one of the Deputy Principals who will then refer you to the School Psychologist if appropriate.
