The program immerses students in both the <strong>language and culture of Japan<\/strong>, building strong foundations in communication, intercultural understanding, and global awareness.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Students engage in a variety of interactive and age\u2011appropriate learning experiences, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Speaking and listening<\/strong> activities to build confidence in conversational Japanese<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reading and writing<\/strong> using hiragana and simple kanji as students progress<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cultural learning<\/strong> exploring traditions, festivals, daily life, and Japanese customs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Games, songs, role\u2011plays, and technology<\/strong> to make learning fun, memorable, and meaningful<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program follows the Western Australian Languages Curriculum, ensuring that students steadily develop key skills while enjoying a vibrant, supportive learning environment.<\/p>\n<p>By offering Japanese as a specialist subject, we provide students with an opportunity to broaden their worldview, appreciate cultural diversity, and build valuable language skills that will support them in secondary schooling and beyond.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At Rockingham Beach Primary School, all students from Pre\u2011primary to Year 6 participate in our Japanese specialist program, delivered by a dedicated and experienced language teacher.
